Counselling Services in Manchester

November 13, 2015 by counsadmin

I have a great deal of experience helping people of all ages with a wide range of difficulties. I offer weekday and evening appointments. I work remotely, offering sessions via Zoom or over the telephone. I will reply to any phone or email messages promptly and can usually arrange an initial appointment within a week. The purpose of this meeting, which is at a reduced fee, is for us to decide together whether the type of counselling I offer is likely to help you.

Working in an integrative way, I have the skills and experience to help you overcome your difficulties and to help you develop strategies to manage challenges in the future. For example counselling can help to bring about improvements in relationships with family, friends and work colleagues. Counselling can help people manage and understand their feelings better; it can help people deal with issues such as anxiety, depression and low self-confidence. It can be an opportunity to get things off your chest, sometimes things you have never spoken to anybody about before.

I offer weekday and evening appointments.

I offer a reduced fee initial consultation which is a chance for you to ask any questions you may have and to discuss your expectations.

To arrange a meeting please contact me.

I will reply to any messages promptly and can usually arrange an initial appointment within a week.

Please see our Sessions and Fees page for details of how to book and pay.

Supervision Services in Manchester

November 10, 2015 by counsadmin

I offer supervision for trained counsellors and mental health workers as well as those in training. As with my counselling practice I work from a Person-Centred perspective, integrating other theoretical perspectives and approaches. As well as having a Diploma in Person Centred Counselling I have an MSc in Counselling in Psychotherapy which covered training in CBT and in a variety of brief therapeutic approaches. I have also completed two years of training in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy. I draw on all of these theoretical approaches in my work as a counsellor and supervisor

By providing a supportive relationship promoting an atmosphere of trust my aim is that supervisees can feel safe to explore concerns they may have about individual clients or their practice in general.

I aim to provide an experience of mutuality in supervision sessions, encouraging each supervisee to develop their own goals for supervision, including goals for each individual session. To help with this process I keep in mind Hawkins and Shohet’s Seven Eyed Model as well as the three main functions of supervision, normative, formative and supportive (first described as such by Inskipp and Proctor)

Between 1995 and 2015 I worked as the team leader for a team of counsellors and mental health practitioners in a large further education college. This has given me the experience of providing supervision for practitioners working with clients with a wide cross section of issues, including young people with complex psychological and social issues.

I offer weekday and evening appointments.
